Ongoing research producing promising results for expanded use of various glass and glass-ceramics in bone regeneration and dental applications has inspired the investigation of a wide array of novel glass-based materials for contemporary applications, such as wound healing, soft tissue engineering, cancer treatment, and bacterial/fungal-resistance.

This session will cover each of these areas, and will focus on examination of the compositions, processing methods, structures, and targeted cellular and biological responses of biomedical glass, which warrant their candidacy for further use across the medical fields.
