With ongoing research producing promising results for the expanded use of various glasses and glass-ceramics in bone regeneration and dental applications, this has also inspired the investigation of a wide array of novel glass-based materials for contemporary applications such as wound healing, soft tissue engineering, cancer treatment, and bacterial/fungal-resistance.
This session will cover each of these areas, and will focus on the examination of the compositions, processing methods, structures, and targeted cellular and biological responses of biomedical glasses, which warrant their candidacy for further use across the medical fields.
