Over the last year, creating and implementing education and professional development activities has been challenging, as in person interactions have been limited. This symposium will include talks and discussion panels on professional development, such as networking, mentoring, technical/grant writing, conflict resolution and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted these activities. For example, identification of effective virtual communication strategies, educational and networking activities that translate well to virtual platforms, or how research groups have delt with “lost research time” in proposal and grant writing. Abstracts on a wide variety of topics are encouraged, to serve as resources for those who have found success navigating the “new normal”.
