This symposium will broadly cover the latest advances in low dimensional quantum materials research including, but not limited to, van der Waals solids, cuprates, perovskites, etc. We explicitly encourage submissions focusing on the correlations among spin, charge, and orbital order parameters, as well as electro-optic and light-matter interactions in these materials. Relevant work encompassing theory, synthesis, and advanced characterization of new materials and emergent phenomena is highly welcomed. The primary goal is to create an interdisciplinary forum where stakeholders from academia, industry, and national laboratories can discuss cutting-edge research and foster new collaborations to drive the field of superconductivity, magnetism and ferroelectricity forward.
The foundational focus in this symposium centers on materials discovery, novel synthesis pathways, and advanced characterization of novel materials platforms. This includes deepening the theoretical and experimental understanding of both superconducting and normal-state properties in novel superconductors, investigating interactions with charge, spin, and lattice order parameters, and developing innovative heterostructure devices to enable emergent functionalities. We are also interested in single-crystal and large-area thin-film growth of 2D magnets and ferrolectric materials, device fabrication, and the exploration of structures, dynamics, and emergent properties in moiré superlattices. Additionally, we will emphasize the electronic, optical, and/or magnetic properties of 2D ferroics and van der Waals heterostructures.
