By 2030, society will deploy 10 trillion sensors, 75 billion connected objects, and 110 billion IoT devices. Powering these systems will drive the future increase in electricity demand, making IoT sustainability critical. A sustainable IoT ecosystem requires efficient energy storage, harvesters, power management interfaces, and low-power consumers.

Energy harvesters: Turning ambient energy (solar/indoor light, thermal, kinetic/vibration, and RF/Wi-Fi/cellular) into usable electricity
Intermediate energy storage: Rechargeable batteries, supercapacitors, and high-capacitance capacitors
