The Pittsburgh Section is the oldest ACerS section. Our geographical area encompasses the following counties of western Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren, Washington, and West Moreland.

Pittsburgh Section Annual Golf Outing — September 21, 2026
The Pittsburgh Section of The American Ceramic Society invites you to our Annual Golf Outing on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Birdsfoot Golf Club in Freeport, PA. This fun event supports the J. Earl Frazier Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Registration is now open for the four-person scramble. The cost is $125 per person, which includes:
- 18 holes of golf with cart
- A putting contest with a $10,000 prize
- Beverage cart service throughout the event
- Hot dog and chips at the turn
- Dinner, awards, and prizes
Back by popular demand, we’re also hosting a putting contest with a $5,000 prize!

New Pittsburgh Section Member Event — October 6, 2026
Join the Pittsburgh Section on October 6, 2026, for a special member event held in conjunction with the 128th ACerS Annual Meeting. This gathering offers a welcoming opportunity to connect with colleagues, strengthen professional relationships, and meet members of the ACerS Executive Team.
Held at the Heinz History Center, guests will enjoy light appetizers, drinks, and access to Glass: Shattering Notions, an exhibit exploring the history of glassmaking in western Pennsylvania. ACerS Executive Team members will also share insights on the future of the Society and announce the new Executive Director.
