Download custom ACerS backgrounds for Microsoft Teams

How to upload your Teams background

  1. Find the background image you’d like to use on this webpage, right-click it and select “Save image as…” and save it somewhere easy to find such as your Desktop or Downloads folder. Make sure the file is saved as a .JPG, .PNG, or .BMP file — these are the only formats supported by Teams.
  2. Open the Microsoft Teams desktop app on your computer.
  3. Change your background before a meeting:
    • Go to your Calendar in Teams, select your meeting, and click “Join.” You will land on the pre-join screen where you can preview your camera.
    • Click “Effects and avatars” and then “Video effects.”
    • (You can also click “Meet now” to start a meeting with just yourself and complete these steps.)
  4. Click “Add new,” navigate to where you saved the downloaded background, and open the image file. Your custom image will now appear as an option in your background settings.
  5. Click on your uploaded image to select it, then click “Preview” to see how the background looks before applying it. Once you’re happy, click “Apply and turn on video” (on the pre-join screen) or “Apply” (during a meeting).
    • (Note: Your new background will show up in all of your meetings and calls until you change it. Due to Teams’ camera mirroring, your background should appear flipped in your view.)
