Bioceramics 2014 brought together applied researchers, medical practitioners and medical ceramic materials manufacturers to develop emerging technologies, treatments, and products and devices. Hosted July 30 to August 1, this unique event covered the healthcare environment, clinical applications, materials characterization, and surgical trends. The meeting consisted of four plenary talks, eight panel discussions, and a rapid-fire presentation and poster session. Each panelist gave a 5-minute introductory statement about his/her area of expertise and technology of interest, then a moderator led a Q &A with the audience. A commercial sponsor display took place during breaks and lunch.
The inaugural Rapid-fire Presentation session was Wednesday, July 30 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Presenters gave a three-minute, high-level presentation during this session followed by more in-depth, one-on-one information during the poster session that followed. Download the presentation list.
The meeting emphasized collaboration between R&D, medical practitioners, and biomedical materials manufacturers/marketers to better develop emerging technologies into marketable products. Review the schedule for more details.
