The ACerS International Southwest India Chapter, in association with the Indian Ceramic Society, Hyderabad Chapter, organized a Research to Business Meet on a special theme “Materials that Matter for Whiteware and Technical Ceramics” (R2B@Hyd) on January 24, 2025, at Hotel Avasa, Hyderabad, India. Imerys India was the title sponsor. Seven other sponsors supported this event.
Roughly 120 participants attended. The event included two keynote addresses and 24 invited lectures, which were held in two parallel sessions – one each on whiteware ceramics and technical ceramics. Speakers and delegates from various whiteware industries such as ceramic tiles, sanitary wares and the raw materials suppliers had engaging discussions on raw material issues, including circular economy & testing of raw materials. Advanced materials for strategic and industrial ceramic products were covered in the technical ceramic session. Students and young researchers participated in a poster session and the best posters were awarded. During the occasion a book entitled “Sanitary wares: A comprehensive guide for manufacturing”, authored by Venkatamni Manavalan, was released.
