The US Department of Energy | Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy is sponsoring the webinar No-cost Technical Assistance Resources Offered by the U.S. Department of Energy presented by Dr. Jillian Romsdahl, an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow supporting the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

DESCRIPTION

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office offers a wide range of technical assistance programs and tools to help manufacturers save energy and boost competitiveness. The talk will provide an overview of how to take advantage of existing resources in addition to previewing new opportunities designed specifically for energy-intensive facilities.

INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Jillian Romsdahl is an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow supporting the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Within AMO, she supports the Technical Partnerships team, which manages a range of programs that offer resources and technical assistance to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions in manufacturing. Dr. Romsdahl earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Southern California in 2018, where she pioneered a multi-institutional collaboration to send fungal samples to the International Space Station to study microbial adaptation to spaceflight. As a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the United States Naval Research Laboratory, she led the development of a project that will launch to lunar orbit on NASA’s upcoming Artemis mission. Dr. Romsdahl has spent 5+ years engaging the public in solutions to address climate change by leading outreach initiatives to universities, community members, businesses, and labor leaders. Dr. Romsdahl strives to leverage her diverse background to advance industrial decarbonization and stakeholder engagement activities at DOE.
