ACerS is pleased to announce Chia-Chen Li has been selected for Volunteer Spotlight, a program that recognizes a member who demonstrates outstanding service to The American Ceramic Society through volunteerism.
Li is professor of materials science and engineering at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Hsinchu, Taiwan. She received her Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from NTHU. Before joining NTHU as a professor in 2020, Li served in various faculty roles at National Taipei University of Technology and as a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Li’s research focuses on understanding how particle dispersion, interfaces, and processing-induced microstructure changes influence the performance of energy-storage materials, particularly those used in solid-state and lithium-based batteries. She is committed to translating fundamental ceramic processing science into practical applications, and several of her patented technologies have been successfully transferred to industry.
Li is actively involved in ACerS as a member of the Energy Materials and Systems Division as well as Engineering Ceramics Division. She currently serves as chair of the ACerS International Taiwan Chapter and previously served as secretary beginning in 2019. She has also served the Taiwan Ceramic Society in several roles, including deputy chair of the Publication Committee, executive board member, and chair of the International Committee.
