The October/November 2024 issue of ACerS Bulletin is now available online.
In this month’s issue, we look at research and markets in the United States. In the cover story, author Randy Hecht shows how U.S. organizations are contending with a complicated environment for achieving their R&D and growth goals. In-depth market snapshots of U.S. trades, treaties, and tariffs are included. In a second feature story, student Randi Swanson, chair of the ACerS President’s Council of Student Advisors (PCSA) Communications Committee, profiles seven women who were previously members of the PCSA and now work for the U.S. Department of Defense as civilian military personnel.
In addition to the feature stories, the “Deciphering the Discipline” column by Stephanie Castro Baldivieso describes her research to help improve recycling of nuclear waste. Meanwhile, the “Business and Market View” column overviews global markets for industrial internet of things technologies and devices. Also, the “Journal Highlights” column describes recent advances to all-solid-state lithium batteries.
Finally, the October/November issue announces the ACerS leaders for 2024–2025. The Society installed new officers and directors on the ACerS Executive Committee and Board during the 126th Annual Business Meeting at ACerS Annual Meeting at MS&T24.
