The June/July 2026 issue of ACerS Bulletin is now available online.

In this month’s issue, we explore how universities are supporting the next generation of ceramic and glass scientists and commercial products through degree programs and industry collaborations. The first and second feature stories explore the ceramic engineering program at Missouri University of Science and Technology and the applied data science program at Case Western Reserve University, respectively. The third and fourth feature stories showcase two academic–industry partnerships that aim to advance ceramic additive manufacturing and silicon carbide manufacturing, respectively. The resource roundup article by Randy B. Hecht lists four things every academic inventor needs to know to commercial their research.

The June/July issue also contains the annual “Emerging Professionals” section, which showcases young ACerS members along every step of their journey. The three parts of this section include

In addition to the “Emerging Professionals” section, the annual Kreidl award abstract by 2Pi Inc. senior staff engineer Cosmin-Constantin Popescu describes the development of an experimental platform that enables real-time tracking of phase transitions, morphology evolution, and optical response in phase change material systems during repeated switching.

Several columns explore other topics of interest for ceramics manufacturers. The “Journal Highlights” column by ACerS journals managing editor Brittney Hauke highlights some advances in ceramic tile production. The “Business and Market View” column describes hydrogen fuel cell recycling approaches, including ones aided by artificial intelligence. The “Industry Insights” column by David Holthaus explores how standards can help speed the development of ceramic additive manufacturing.

Finally, meet the incoming ACerS officers and Board members for 2026–2027.
