Don’t miss an opportunity to visit Adaptive Materials Inc. (AMI) on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. AMI is an “up and coming” Ann Arbor, Michigan company, specializing in making microtubular (portable) solid oxide fuel cells. So far, the company has focused mostly on military uses for its SOFCs, such as soldier-worn units, power sources for unmanned vehicles and field uses. Their 50- and 250-watt SOFCs can be fueled with off-the-shelf propane and butane canisters. The company now plans to expand into the consumer leisure market.
