Rosario Gerhardt

ACerS is pleased to announce Rosario Gerhardt has been selected for Volunteer Spotlight, a program that recognizes a member who demonstrates outstanding service to The American Ceramic Society through volunteerism.

Gerhardt is currently a Goizueta Faculty Chair at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to Georgia Tech, she was at Rutgers University.

Gerhardt’s membership with ACerS began in the 1980s as a graduate student at Columbia University. An ACerS Fellow since 2000, she was profiled in a book focused on women in ceramics and glass in 2015, received the Friedberg lecture award in 2017, and was recently selected as a World Academy of Ceramics Member. She is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Gerhardt is active in the Electronics Division of ACerS. In addition to serving as an executive officer, she served as chair of the Electronics Division. She also served on the ACerS Bulletin Advisory board; as advisor to the Georgia Tech student chapter of ACerS; and as a judge of student posters, papers, and GEMS awardees. Most recently, she served as a member of the awards committee for the Education and Professional Development Council.
