The annual Clarivate Journal Citation Report was released late last month. This report includes the Journal Impact Factor, which is a metric that measures the number of citations in the report year (2020) for articles published in a journal the prior two years (2018, 2019).
We are proud to say that all three of ACerS’ traditional journals saw increases in their impact factors. Important highlights from this year’s report include
- JACerS and ACT achieved their highest impact factors yet, at 3.784 and 1.986, respectively
- IJAGS crossed over the impact factor of 2 (at 2.029) for the first time since the 2014 report
- Total citations for all three journals increased to record high levels, with ACT and IJAGS jumping by over 25%
- Immediacy index, a measure of early citations, increased for all three journals
Furthermore, the 5-year impact factor and cited article half-lives (the mid-point “age” of the cited articles) were mostly up compared to 2019. These measurement of the staying power of published articles show that all journals continue to provide the enduring quality you have come to expect.
