Iluka Resources Ltd. expects to produce more zircon this year than previously forecast, as global demand for the mineral used for making ceramics increases. The Australian mining company lifted its full-year output forecast to 280,000 metric tons, up from a prior estimate of 220,000 tons at the start of the year. Iluka said demand for rutile and synthetic rutile remained weak, however. See the company’s full mid-year production report (pdf) here.
