| Special Shapes Refractory Company (SSRC) is a privately held, family owned business founded in 1987. We are now entering our fourth decade of service to the Glass industry and all other industrial markets, we pause to reflect on the reasons for our solid growth.
SSRC understands the processes for constructing, operating and maintaining glass furnaces. We also understand the rigorous performance demands of our refractory materials and shapes in the most severe industrial applications. Further, we have become a world leader in the identification of refractory wear mechanisms and the development of refractory solutions. We produce monolithic refractory materials as well as precision, precast shapes for all industries. We have provided our shapes and materials to all the major glass manufacturers – including key engineering companies and refractory/installation contractors.
