COMING SOON: Materials science demonstration and lab kits, providing an introduction to the basic classes of materials (metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites) through a total of ten fun and interactive lessons.
Each kit includes most of the essential materials needed to perform the experiments as well as a comprehensive set of lesson documents consisting of instructions, discussion questions, and sample data sheets. The lab kit is designed for small groups of students to perform the experiments and includes lessons such as ‘Chocolate Strength – How strong is your chocolate?’ which examines the influence of different microstructures on the strength of a material. The demo kit is designed for the teacher to perform the experiments and includes lessons such as ‘Hot or Not’ which examines the behavior of a ceramic space tile as it moves through Earth’s atmosphere.
