The 4th Global Ceramics Leadership Roundtable was inaugurated with a welcome address by Prof. Sanjay H. Upadhyay, head of the Centre for Space, Science and Technology. He welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais, including the chief guest, Mr. S. Somanath, chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization & Secretary of Department of Space. We thank him for sparing his valuable time. Dr L.K. Sharma informed the audience about the activities of ACerS International Northeast India Chapter and thanked the former President of ACerS, Dr. Mrityunjay Singh, as the brainchild of the Global Ceramics Leadership Roundtable idea in India on alternate years. Prof. Sanjay Mathur, immediate past President of ACerS, informed us about the activities of ACerS and its growth pattern. Prof. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chair of ACerS International Northeast India Chapter, explained about the Global Roundtable. Prof. K. K.  Pant, Director at IIT Roorkee, spoke about IIT’s role on the 4th Global Ceramics Leadership Roundtable and thanked the ACerS International Northeast India Chapter for organizing it in IIT-Roorkee. Mr. Somanath thanked the organizers and expressed the best wishes for the remarkable success of the Roundtable. Prof. Bhanu Pant from the Centre for Space Science and Technology, IIT Roorkee, and organizing Co-Secretary, conveyed thanks to IIT administration and all the dignitaries on the dais, speakers, delegates and members of the organizing committee.

Souvenir was released by the dignitaries on the dais.

Inauguration ended with the National Anthem and tea break.

A Roundtable discussion was organised on “Ceramics for Sustainable Society: Challenges & Path Forward”  with the Panellists: Dr. Jon Binner, Mr. M. R Ajith, Dr. Valerie Pralong, Dr. S. Packirisamy, Dr. Emmanuel Guilmeau, Dr. Shyam S Rao, Dr. Sitendu Mandal, Dr. Madhusoodana CD,  Dr. Bikramjit Basu (Moderator) and Dr. Sanjay Mathur (Chair) in the evening of 12th March.2024. 24nos researchers made the presentations on 12th March in three different Parallel technical sessions. Similarly, 29 presentations were made on 13th March in parallel sessions. 35nos delegates/ students displayed their research in Poster Session on 13th March 2024. Roundtable ended by Valedictory session in the Evening of 13th March.2024. Top 10 posters were given “Best Poster Prize”.  Overall Roundtable was attended by 146 delegates from different countries, Institutions and universities.
