ACerS is pleased to announce Mathieu Hubert has been selected for Volunteer Spotlight, a program through which we recognize a member who demonstrates outstanding service to The American Ceramic Society through volunteerism.
Hubert earned a MChem from the University of Rennes, France and a Ph.D. in materials science at the University of Rennes and the University of Arizona. His work focused on chalcogenide glasses and glass-ceramics.
His professional background includes working at CelSian Glass & Solar as a glass scientist and technologist and teaching with the CelSian-NCNG International Glass Technology Course. He joined Corning USA in 2016 and is a development associate, working on new glass products. Additionally, he lectures on glass science and glass technology at the Corning Community College.
A member of ACerS since 2011, Hubert has served as a GOMD conference session chair and as the lead organizer of the Symposium on Glass Technology and Manufacturing at the 2019 ICG/GOMD conference. Currently, he is program co-chair for the upcoming 2021 GOMD Conference in Vancouver. He also mentors students as part of ACerS PCSA mentoring program.
