The ACerS DC/Maryland/Virginia Section welcomes a new 2024–25 leadership team:

- Programming Chair: Russell Maier, National Institute of Standards and Technology
- Secretary: Tony Finoli, McDanel Advanced Material Technologies, LLC
- D&I Representative: Keith Bowman, UMBC University of Maryland, Baltimore County
This year, the DC/Maryland/Virginia Section is planning to continue with some of the previous and successful activities that the Section has been doing and adding some new activities:
- Monthly research webinars;
- Support for attending ACerS conferences;
- Getting together events at several locations on the section;
- Connecting members for Internship/Employment Opportunities;
- Highlighting the work of our Ceramic community members, and much more!
The Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia Section will soon relaunch its webinar series entitled “Spotlight On Ceramics.” The webinar will be held on the last Friday of the month at 12 p.m., (EST). Be on the lookout for details of the first webinar of the series, with guest speaker Dr. Olivia Brandt, Naval Research Laboratory. Future speakers will be announced as confirmed.
