Earlier this year, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) handed out advanced manufacturing technology grants to 19 U.S. universities and nonprofits as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen manufacturing and innovation output and performance through technology roadmapping.

Now, it’s looking for the next crop of awardees.

NIST’s AdvancedManufacturing Technology Consortia Program anticipates awarding two-year grants totaling $5.6 million during its second funding competition. The selected projects, which are expected to be announced in early 2015, will each receive between $250,000 and $500,000.

According to a NIST news release, broad participation by companies of all sizes, universities, and government agencies driven by industry, is encouraged.

A pre-application is required and is due by September 5, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. (EST); full applications must be submitted by the same time on October 31, 2014.

For details on eligibility, selection criteria, or to submit an application, follow the link or search 2014-NIST-AMTECH-01 on grants.gov
