Apple finally announced last week—after many months of rumors, speculation, and, for some, anticipation—that the new iPhone 6 is (almost) here.
But before you rush out to get the latest and greatest, watch this short video from The American Chemical Society to get familiar with some of the components inside smartphones and, perhaps better yet, the ceramics that help make it all possible—including where lithium cobalt oxide, ion-strengthened glass (which some say is likely Corning’s Gorilla Glass, not the much-speculated sapphire), and indium tin oxide come into the picture.
