Central Ohio and the Dayton/Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky co-host webinar: Growth opportunities for innovative small businesses from the Department of Defense federal research grants

May 5, 2022

12:30 p.m.

The Department of Defense and ten other federal agencies provide grants to support innovative research and technology development at small companies. The primary funding mechanism is Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. Half of the over 220 SBIR grants that Ohio companies receive each year, which bring $100 million in nondilutive funding, are from the DoD.

These awards are designed to prepare the companies and the DoD to become long term supplier-customer partners based on the technologies developed. The free services provided by Ohio Aerospace Institute help companies learn about, apply for, and participate in these programs.

This webinar will introduce the SBIR program, with a special emphasis on current research grant opportunities with the DoD. We will also introduce other tax-supported efforts to help Ohio manufacturers grow their defense-related business.
