The October/November 2023 issue of ACerS Bulletin is now available online.
In this month’s issue, we look at research and markets in Germany. In the cover story, author Randy Hecht shows how Germany is confronting environmental and human capital challenges as it invests in R&D to support sustainable development goals. In-depth market snapshots of German trades, treaties, and tariffs are included. Plus, student Jesse Hinricher shares his perspective on similarities and differences between German and U.S. research groups in the “Deciphering the Discipline” column.
An additional feature article by A. Murat Avcı, Servet Kızılırmak, and Ender Suvacı of Entekno Materials Co. (Eskişehir, Türkiye) shows how health concerns and production constraints surrounding conventional piezoceramic materials are driving interest and growth in the nascent market for lead-free and textured piezoceramics. Also, the global market for 3D printing in the construction industry is explored in the “Business and Market View” column.
Finally, the October/November issue announces the ACerS leaders for 2023–2024. The Society installed new officers and directors on the ACerS Executive Committee and Board last week during the 125th Annual Business Meeting at ACerS Annual Meeting at MS&T23.
