Connie Herman is currently the Associate Laboratory Director for the Environmental Stewardship directorate at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL).  SRNL is the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management and Legacy Management lead laboratory, and the Directorate provides technologies and strategies for clean-up of the nuclear weapons wastes and sites.  Connie has been with the lab for 28 years, where she has primarily been engaged in the development and deployment of technologies and processes for stabilization of nuclear waste.  She has been a manager of Research and Development programs since 2005.  She is a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society, has held various leadership positions in the Nuclear & Environmental Technology Division, and is a past chair of the Fellows Committee for the society.
