He worked as a graduate student and as a junior researcher at Politecnico di Milano, the Joint Research Centre-Institute for Transuranium Elements (JRC-ITU) of Karlsruhe (Germany), the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) of Marcoule (France) and, as a visiting scientist, the Royal Military College of Kingston (Canada). Since the end of 2006 Dario has been appointed as a Research Administrator of the European Commission’s JRC at ITU Karlsruhe.

His main fields of interests are the thermodynamics and thermophysics of nuclear materials, in particular under extreme and accidental conditions, vibrational and X-ray spectroscopy of actinide compounds and fundamental properties of nuclear glasses.
