Eung Soo Kim is currently a Professor at the Department of Materials Engineering of the Kyonggi University, Suwon, Kyonggi-do, Korea.  He is a current Vice President of the Korean Ceramic Society and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Korean Ceramic Society.

He graduated from the Department of Ceramics, Yonsei Univerity, Seoul, Korea in 1984, and was awarded the MD and PhD degree in Electronic Ceramics by Yonsei University in 1986 and 1991, respectively. In 1991 he joined Kyonggi University as a faculty member, and was a research advisory professor of the Central Research Institute of Samsung Electro-Mechanics in Korea from 1994 to 1995. He was also an adjunct professor at Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA in 2003. He published 202 refereed papers including 164 papers in renowned international journal (SCI), 8 patents, and 2 book Chapters. Especially, his significant findings on the phenomenology of dielectric properties at the microwave frequencies have received international recognition. He received the Academic Award of the Korean Ceramic Society in 2014.  Since 1991, he has been an active regular member at the Electronics Division of the American Ceramic Society. He contributed to the American Ceramic Society as a co-organizer and session chair of several Symposiums at the Annual Meeting and Pacific Rim Conferences as well as the reviewer of The Journal of the American Ceramic Society and International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology

His work is currently focusing on the development of electronic ceramics with tailoring the crystal structure for microwave dielectrics materials and LTCC technology. He has been carrying out research in ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics, ceramic processing, microstructure-property relations.
