Hodaj-photoFiqiri Hodaj is full Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Grenoble Institute of Technology – School of Engineering in Physics, Applied Physics, Electronics & Materials Science, France.

He received his Engineer’s Degree in Materials Science in 1985 and his PhD in Materials Science in 1988 from the Grenoble Institute of Technology. He joined the Grenoble Institute of Technology in 1993 as Associate Professor and is full Professor in the same Institute since 2002. Since 2011, he is also Scientific Advisor at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in the field of thermodynamics of materials and interfacial reactivity.

His research in the SIMAP laboratory (Science, Engineering, Materials and Processes laboratory) is focused on the fundamental aspects of solid-liquid and solid-solid interfacial interactions (thermodynamics, wetting, nucleation, diffusion, reactivity) with particular applications to metal/ceramic and ceramic/ceramic joining by brazing alloys as well as to soldering in microelectronics.

He is author of four monographs, about eighty publications in referred scientific journals, three patents and presented twenty five invited talks in international conferences. He has been the supervisor of 15 PhD students. He was organizer of the Symposium “Wetting, Soldering and Brazing” in Euromat 2011 and is member of scientific committee of eight international conferences.
