Joshua M. Pelletier was born and raised in South Carolina. Josh attended Clemson University where, in 2006, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic and Materials Engineering along with the Gilbert C. Robinson Undergraduate Research Award.  After graduation, he launched his career in the refractory industry as a Project Engineer with Zampell, designing and installing refractory linings across heavy industry.  In 2010, Josh went to work for Kerneos, the leading manufacturer of calcium aluminate cements for refractory producers worldwide.  In his decade of experience with Kerneos, Josh held multiple positions in technical and commercial capacities, garnering recognition as a two-time recipient of The Global Commercial Excellence Award (‘14/’16), and completing his MBA in International Business in 2016.  In 2017, Kerneos was acquired by IMERYS where he now serves as the North American Sales Manager for Refractory Producers.  Josh has been a member of ASTM Committee C08 on Refractories since 2010, serving as Subcommittee Chair from 2016 through 2019.  Within ACerS, he’s served as Chair of the Refractory Ceramics Division and has Chaired RCD’s Annual Refractory Symposium in St. Louis.  He’s been a champion for student outreach, partnering with RCD and PCSA for STEM demo kits, volunteering at Materials Camp, and advocating for international student travel grants.  Josh has been an invited speaker at global conferences including UNITECR and The Ceramics Expo and is currently serving on the ACerS Committee on Society Awards, the Committee on Meetings and Programs and is Co-chair of the Social Committee for UNITECR 2021.  Josh lives in the upstate of SC with his wife, Amanda, and their two children.  They enjoy cooking together, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering through their local church.
