Chen_photo_125x148Mao Chen is currently working as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ). He received his B.E. degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Central South University in 2008 and his PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from UQ in 2013. Dr. Chen is the author or co-author of 7 referee’s papers and 10 conference papers and presentations.

Dr. Chen’s research interest is focused on metallurgical process engineering, especially on metallurgical physical chemistry by studying phase equilibria and other physio-chemical properties of oxides and metals. The purpose of the studies is to optimise the metallurgical process to achieve economic and environmental benefits. In addition, he is interested in utilizing the ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical slags for useful materials, including ceramics.
