Meng Shang works as an R&D Scientist at APL Engineered Materials, Urbana, Illinois. Dr. Shang obtained his PhD degree in Materials Chemistry and Physics in 2011 from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Science, China. His research was on metal and metal oxide nanomaterial catalysts applied to environmental purification and energy.

Following his PhD, he began working as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Colorado School of Mines on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell and Catalysts projects between 2011 and 2014. He joined APL Engineered Materials as a Quality Control Lab Scientist in 2014 and became an R&D Scientist in 2015. Dr. Shang has published over 40 high quality research papers, which were cited more than 2000 times. He also held 4 patents. Dr. Shang’s research interests are materials synthesis and characterization of quantum dot, nano-, micro-structured oxide, non-oxide, catalysts, ceramics, metal, and metal halide. His area of work are leading and involving in different projects, like Solid Oxide Fuel Cell, Quantum Dot, Catalysts, Phosphor, and Scintillator, etc..
