Rodrigo Moreno is Research Professor at the Institute of Ceramics and Glass of CSIC in Madrid, Spain. He obtained the degree in Chemistry in 1984 and the PhD in Chemistry in 1988, both at Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. He became Tenured Scientist in 1990, Research Scientist in 1997 and Full Professor in 2004, always at ICV-CSIC. He has coauthored more than 440 papers (+330 in SCI journals), 9 book chapters and 2 books, and holds 9 patents. He has participated in the organizing/scientific committees of near 70 congresses and has supervised 20 PhD theses. Prof. Moreno is Fellow of ECERS, academician of the World Academy of Ceramics, and Honorary Member of the Spanish Society of Materials (SOCIEMAT). He obtained the JECS Trust Award of ECERS and the Best Carrier Award in Materials of SOCIEMAT. Prof. Moreno is now Board Member of FEMS (Federation of European Materials Societies) and was Board Member of the JECS Trust. Member of the Spanish and the Portuguese Ceramic Societies, he is member of ACERS from 1991 to 2004 and from 2014 to now. Currently, Prof. Moreno is Senior Editor of the Journal of the European Ceramic Society and Editor of several journals (Materials, European Journal of Materials, Material-ES, Frontiers in Materials), and was Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Ceramic Society (2009-2011). He was also the first Secretary of the Spanish Chapter of ACERS.
