Shujun Zhang is Professor at Institution for Superconducting and Electronic Materials, Australian Institute for Innovative Materials, University of Wollongong, Australia. He received his PhD degree from Shandong University, China, in 2000. He moved to The Pennsylvania State University, US, as a Postdoctoral scholar upon completion of his PhD study, he was promoted to Research Associate, Senior Research Associate and Senior Scientist at Materials Research Institute of Pennsylvania State University, meanwhile he was Associate Professor and Professor at Materials Science and Engineering Department of the same University. He joined University of Wollongong in 2015 as a full professor.

He received Australian Research Council Future Fellowship (2014), Fellow of American Ceramic Society (2019) and Senior member of IEEE (2010). He was elected AdCom member of IEEE-UFFC society. He is Associate Editor in Chief of IEEE Transaction on Ultrasonic, Ferroelectric and Frequency Control; Associate editor of Science Bulletin; Journal of the American Ceramic Society and Journal Electronic Materials, section Editor in Chief of Crystals.

He holds 9 US patents and has authored/coauthored 500 papers, which have been collectively cited > 20,000 times with an H-index of 68. He is now focusing on material design- material fabrication- microstructure analysis –property characterization- prototype evaluation and their relationship, providing the material guidance for piezoelectric sensor, transducer and energy storage/harvesting applications. He has been a member of American Ceramic Society, Electronic Division, since 2002.
