Xiang-Hua Zhang is a Research Professor at CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) and director of the laboratory of glasses and ceramics. From 1996 to 2001, he was founding president, acting also as technical director, of VERTEX S.A. specialized in the development and the production of infrared glass optics, integrated in the Umicore group. He became chief technology officer of UMICORE IR Glass (ex- VERTEX) from 2001-2002.
Dr. Zhang received his EMBA from ISM (International School of Management), Paris, New-York was a Ph.D. and Master Student at University of Rennes I, France and an undergraduate student at Zhejiang University, China.
His awards include: The Research Award of the Foundation of the University of Rennes 1, Grand Prix Foundation EADS (now Airbus) of the French Academy of Sciences, Grand Prix YVAN PEYCHES of the French Academy of Sciences, Innovation and defense award given by M. Alain Richard (French Minister of Defense), and IBM Young scientist given by M. Hubert Curien (French Minster of Research).
Dr. Zhang holds 17 patents, has presented at 82 invited conferences in international congress and has 305 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
