Mo-Sci Corporation is a manufacturer of specialty glass materials such as glass frits, microspheres, and ingots. We have melting capabilities for temperatures up to 1600C and quantities from a few kg up to several thousand kgs annually. Our unique in house capabilities allow us to melt larger quantities in a variety of crucible types. Mo-Sci Corporation was selected for the 2022 Corporate Technical Achievement Award for the commercialization of Mirragen Advanced Wound Matrix, the first bioactive glass wound care product for treating soft tissue injuries. Mirragen technology utilizes a proprietary borate based bioactive glass fiber matrix originally developed at Missouri S&T for the management of soft tissue injuries. Mirragen has a fibrous microstructure that creates scaffold architecture for cells to migrate that will also degrade in a span of several days when in contact with body fluids and releases ions into the wound. These ions serve several useful functions including: recruitment of stem cells to the injury site, antibacterial and antifungal properties, anti inflammatory properties, promotion of angiogenesis (vascular generation), and hemostasis (blood loss control).
