Jim and I—along with much of the ACerS staff—are getting ready to head up to Montreal for Materials Science & Technology 2013 and the 115th Annual Meeting of the American Ceramic Society.
If you’re attending too, finding your way around the event will be easier than ever, thanks to a free smartphone app with everything you could want to know about the conference. The app will schedule events into your calendar, let you contact other attendees directly, and help you find the parts of the meeting that are most important to you. Get the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and search for MS&T’13. It’s free, but you do have to be registered for the conference.
For those who prefer paper guides (or if your phone battery is running low), stop by the Society lounge in the lobby to pick up a customized ACerS guidebook to the meeting that highlights ACerS activities, lectures, division meetings, receptions, student events and, of course, technical symposia.
Also, we extend our congratulations to MS&T partner society ASM International on its centennial celebration! See the ASM International website for information about special events marking the occasion.
Here are a few of those “don’t miss” highlights, but of course, there is so much more. We’ll be sharing our reports with you next week. If you see us at MS&T, be sure to say “hi.”
