Nippon Sheet Glass Co. reported a 5.6 percent decline in revenues in fiscal year 2013, compared to fiscal year 2012, according to the company’s FY 2013 Annual Consolidated Financial Results, released May 16. The company reported operating losses of about $170 million for the year.

PPG Industries announced that the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania issued an opinion and interim order confirming the current Pittsburgh Corning plan of reorganization. PPG and Corning Inc. are each 50 percent shareholders of Pittsburgh Corning, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2000.

• Iluka Resources managing director has painted an improved picture of the zircon market, with a higher level of customer inquiry and a pick-up in orders in all markets, except Europe. They may increase output as demand recovers in China and the US. It will be a progressive response to a progressive return in demand.
