Tony Evans

Published on September 16th, 2009 | By: pwray@ceramics.org

Tony died last week after a tough fight with cancer. He is considered to be one of the “giants” in not only ceramic science, but, really, in all of materials science. A great thinker, teacher, motivator and team manager, Tony’s accomplishments and kudos are enormous. His death is a huge loss to his family, to ACerS and to the science community.

For more about Tony, see ACerS’ longer obituary.

    Famous in ceramic science!

  2. Pat Stephan says:

Tony was an inspiration to all. Let us carry on in his spirit!

  3. Having worked with Tony on several government/industrial programs, I share the feeling of loss as expressed by Fred Lange and others. He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
