Conduct fundamental and industrial research in refractory, cement and waste utilization on a contract basis.  Refractory research includes silica refractories, high-alumina, magnesia, magnesia-chrome, magnesia-carbon, alumina-carbon, alumina-magnesia-carbon qualities.  Cement research includes development of portland and high-alumina cement.  Waste utilization includes sponge iron waste and other industrial wastes.  Fundamental research includes development of nanometallic oxides.
