It’s time to begin preparing nominations for four Bioceramics Division awards with a July 1, 2021 deadline. Award eligibility for each can be found at ACerS Awards Page.

Young Scholar Award

This award recognizes excellence in research among current degree-seeking graduate students and postdoctoral research associates. The recipient will receive a certificate, glass piece, and a complimentary MS&T registration.

Global Young Bioceramicist Award

This award recognizes the outstanding young ceramic engineer and material scientist, who has made significant contributions to the area of bioceramics, for human healthcare around the globe. Nominations are invited from the candidates from academia, industry, or government-funded national laboratory – across the world. The awardee shall receive a certificate, glass piece, and a complimentary MS&T registration.

Larry L. Hench Lifetime Achievement Award

This award recognizes a deserving individual(s) in recognition of lifetime dedication, vision, and accomplishments in advancing the field of Bioceramics, particularly toward innovation in the field and contribution of that innovation to translation of technology toward clinical use. The awardee shall receive a certificate, glass piece, and a complimentary MS&T registration.

Tadashi Kokubo Award

This award is presented annually to a deserving individual(s) in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the field of bioceramics research and development. Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (NEG) proudly supports this award. The awardee shall receive a certificate, glass piece, and a complimentary MS&T registration. In addition, the awardee will receive the invitation of a lecture, which will be presented in a bioceramics-focused symposium at the meeting.
