Sungwook Mhin, currently a senior researcher at Heat treatment R&D group, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea.

He received his BS and MS degree in ceramics engineering and materials science and engineering in 2006 and in 2008, respectively, from Hanyang University in Korea. Also, he received Ph.D degree in materials science and engineering in 2013 from University of Florida under the mentorship of Prof. Jacob L. Jones. After finishing his Ph.D, he worked as a manager in the group of Advanced Cathode Materials in LG chemicals in 2014. Mhin is adjunct professor in the department of Environmental and Energy Engineering at Sungshin Women’s University from 2018. He has published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals and granted 16 patents. He is the reviewer of more than 10 international journals, including J. Am. Ceram. Soc., Ceram. Int., Nano energy, J. Mat. Chem. He joined in ACerS in 2013. He received the 2020 ECD Global Young Investigator Award from ACerS.

His current research interests include: (1) Facile synthesis of oxide-based nanostructure via wet chemical method. (2) Phase boundary and interface engineering of hybrid materials. and (3) Doping and microstructure engineering of functional ceramics.
