In this one hour webinar, Dr. R. Allen Kimel, Assistant Professor and Associate Head of Undergraduate Studies, The Pennsylvania State University, will give tips on:

  • How to choose what talks to attend (that will help you the most)
  • How to apply what you’ve learned at the conference once you return home
  • How to convince your supervisors that you need to attend more conferences
  • How to network and work a room

Dr. Kimel is the assistant professor and associate head for undergraduate studies in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State University, where he has been on the faculty since 2002.  He has served in the leadership chain of the Ceramic Education Council, Student Activities Committee and the Material Advantage Committee for The American Ceramic Society. He has been attending and presenting at professional society conferences such as ACerS Annual Meetings and MS&T since the early 1990’s.
